The Liverpool Post's circulation was declining for over 10 years before Trinity Mirror announced it would be closing the paper yesterday.
Over that time, the 158-year old paper relaunched its paper and web edition, launched a crowdsourced news project, began liveblogging, launched a business magazine and a business app, and made the shift from a daily paper to a weekly one.
However, it continued to face decline – its circulation dropping from over 22,000 in 2000 to 5,727 by the end of 2012.
